Just the NAP and one other selection for today’s fine Sunday session. Tough day at the office yesterday, so taking it handy before a busy few days at Xmas. As usual, the player prop can be found at the bottom.
Sunday Week 15 Bets:
Cincinnati Bengals @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bengals -3.5 (NAP), 1 point @ 10/11
This week’s nap takes us to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for the week 15 matchup of the Bengals and Bucs. The Bengals are red-hot at the moment, but the same can’t be said for the Bucs. The Bengals have won their last five and the Bucs just got blown out 35-7 by the Brock Purdy led 49ers.
The Bengals are rolling on the offensive side of the ball, currently ranking fifth in terms of total offensive yards per game and sixth in points per game. Their passing attack is obviously key to them moving the chains and they’ll need to be firing on all cylinders here as the Bucs passing D is currently fifth in terms of passing yards allowed per game. The Bucs haven’t been great at stopping the run, however, so a fully fit Joe Mixon may feast in terms of yards. The Bucs have been stout in giving up points to Fantasy running backs, which would suggest they are good at stopping them in the red zone. Interesting to see how this plays out.
Looking at the Bucs offence, they have really been struggling lately. I know the 49ers have the best defence in the league, but putting up seven total points just ain’t it. They will have a little bit more success here, especially with Trey Hendrickson out, but I don’t think it will be enough. Points will be scored, but I like the Bengals to cover.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Chicago Bears: Eagles -8.5, 1 point @ 10/11
One of the best teams in the league will look to put a big number on one of the worst teams in the league and solidify themselves as the big dog in the NFC. The Eagles are currently 12-1 and travel to Soldier Field to take on the 3-10 Bears in this early Sunday kick-off.
If the Eagles can contain Justin Fields in this one, this bet is a certainty. The Bears are 27th in terms of rushing yards allowed and the Eagles are the third ranked rushing offence. If the Bears can somehow slow down the rushing offence, Hurts, Brown and Smith should carve them open through the air. The Eagles have too much firepower for the Bears to keep them locked down. But what about the Bears staying with them in terms of scoring? Hard to see that as well. The Bears haven’t put up more than 24 since they played the Lions on the 13th of November. The Eagles have the number two ranked defence in terms of yards allowed and the eight ranked defence in terms of points allowed per game, so it’s hard to see the Bears putting up big numbers and staying in this one.
