Week 2 Review:
Not the best showing ever, but we live and learn. A tough slate of Sunday games mixed with a poorly timed lump on Derrick Henry has us down to -11.23 points. The record is still in the positive, which is good, but I’ll have to change some tactics up. The €5 to €500 always needs to be tweaked as well, it looks like too long a shot. Shock. Maybe €5 to €100 or €5 to €250. I’ll mull (sob) over it during the week.

Week 2 Winners & Losers:
Winners:
Tua
Without a doubt the biggest winner of week two. Tua has been ridiculed since he got in the league, from people saying he is too injury prone, to the Dolphins drafting him over Justin Herbert, and in preseason, looking like he wouldn’t have the arm strength to reach Tyreek downfield (some great memes though). Tua put up a monster stat line on Sunday night, throwing for 469 yards, 6TDs and 2 INTs, in what was an incredible comeback against the Ravens. Down 35-14 in the final quarter, Tua, Tyreek and Waddle went to work and took Miami to a 2-0 start. Tua is finally starting to win fans and the media over, which is tuarrific. I’m sorry…
Jets/Giants/Lions/Jaguars Fans
Sunday night was the first time the Jets, Giants, Lions and Jags have all won on the same day since 2011! Four of the sorriest franchises in recent memory all got the job done, with some doing it in emphatic style. The Lions offence balled out again, putting up another +35-point performance. This time against the Wentz led commanders. DeAndre Swift and Amon Ra St. Brown are as dynamic as they come and with Goff not making any major mistakes, they have a real chance to take some scalps this year. The Joe Flacco led Jets one upped the Dolphins comeback by coming from 30-17 down with 1:38 left on the clock in the 4th. Flacco connected with rookie Garrett Wilson on the game winning drive to seal the deal by one point (just bin the Browns franchise and move on). The Giants are 2-0 for the first time since 2016, as they beat the Panthers 19-16 on Sunday night. Head Coach Brian Daboll has really injected some life into the team and they have a real chance to go 3-0 next Monday, as they face the Cowboys during Monday Night Football. Trevor Lawrence looked much better for the Jags and seems to be building a real connection with new signing Christian Kirk. If Travis Etienne and James Robinson can continue to build as a one-two RB punch, the Jaguars might get frisky as the season goes on. Their defence can make some plays and with Doug Peterson now as Head Coach, they could compete in a bad AFC South Division.
Malik Willis
Ryan Tannehill was baddddddd last night. Tannehill threw for 117 yards and 2 INTs in what was his worst performance for a long while. I know the Bills are a dominant team on both sides of the ball, but Tannehill looked out of his depth. He was only sacked twice but had Von Miller and Co. breathing down his neck all night. If Tannehill puts up another performance like that, fans and the media are going to be screaming to get Malik Willis in. Whispers are already starting to filter in on social media, after Willis’ impressive preseason. If the Titans continue to struggle, it would be a no brainer to put the rookie in to get him some game time. Be interesting to see how this progresses.
Losers
Jim Irsay
The Colts owner must be raging. Like, funny viewing angry. Irsay was adamant that the Colts QB troubles were over with the signing of Matt Ryan. Irsay was quoted as saying in the offseason that the team is ‘set up for another generation of greatness’, after going through last season ‘with some inconsistency at quarterback that led to massive problems’. Poor Carson Wentz. The Jets ended their 2021 season with a disgraceful loss to the Jaguars, which meant they ultimately missed out on the playoffs. Things aren’t looking much better now ole Jimmy boy.
Trey Lance
Lance suffered a horrific ankle injury on Sunday night in their showdown against the Seahawks. Lance underwent successful ankle surgery on Monday morning at Stanford Hospital, according to a team spokesman. Lance suffered a fibula and ligament disruption but looks to be on the mend now and should be back in time for the 2023 season. I wonder how Niner fans are feeling about this, because Jimmy G looked good when he came in on Sunday night…
Bengals O-Line
By gawd, what has happened to the Bengals? They are a hot steaming turd. Losing to the Cooper Rush led Cowboys has to be sickening for a team that just went to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys D is obviously dangerous, but allowing your QB to be sacked six times is inexcusable. Almost as inexcusable as allowing him to be sacked seven times (which they did the week before). They have a good opportunity to get back on track against the Jets next week, but they look to be in a bit of a pickle. Fortunately for them, the rest of the AFC North haven’t got off to an electric start either.
Me
This could be a common occurrence this season…
Week 3 Waiver Wire Targets
RB:
James Cook – Cook led the Bills in carries last night and put up a decent 4.8 yards per carry. He only ran the ball 11 times, but Singletary and Moss only carried the rock six and three times respectively. As the season goes on the Fantasy nerds think he’ll get more and more involved. Could be a good time to pick him up for nathin.
WR:
Garrett Wilson – Wilson has a clear connection with Joe Flacco. His eight receptions, 102 yards and two TDs were team leading on Sunday night, and good enough for 26 Fantasy points. Flacco also trusts him enough to throw the game levelling touchdown. Up next for the Jets, are the struggling Bengals who can’t keep their offence on the field.
