Game Preview:

Injuries

Impossible to look at this game without reviewing the extensive injury list for both teams. The Titans are definitely in worse shape, as they are missing Randy Bullock – K, Bud Dupree – LB, Amani Hooker – S, Lonnie Johnson – CB, Caleb Farley – CB and Ben Jones – C. Elijah Molden – CB and Jeffrey Simmons – DT are both questionable. The secondary is fairly shaken up, which is not good when facing Rodgers. Rodgers hasn’t been his best this year, but he threw for three TDs last week and looked back to himself. I would be very worried for the Tennessee D in this game, even though they usually play better than the sum of their parts. For Green Bay, they are managing some knocks themselves, as De’Vondre Campbell – LB, Romeo Doubs – WR are definitely out, and David Bakhtiari – T is probably out. Not as bad, but you would like to have those players back in the line-up, for the added defence and firepower going forward against a generally stingy Titans’ D.

Green Bay against the run

I think particular attention needs to be paid to this element as Green Bay’s run D is one of the worst in the league and now faces the big man. Green Bay are 26th in the league in terms of yards allowed and Henry is second in the league in terms of rushing yards, with 923. Henry will run on the Packers, but will it be enough to keep them moving forward? The Titans are the second worst passing team in the league, in terms of yards per game, and the Packers have been ok against the pass, ranking 3rd in terms of passing yards allowed.

Titans against the pass

Staying with the topic of passing yards allowed, the Titans are pretty poor. They are ranking second worst in this category too, which should excite Rodgers on his resurgence. The Titans have lost to Buffalo and Kansas City this year and they are really the only strong passing teams they have faced. I would have strong concerns on their ability to stop Rodgers, especially with their secondary so banged up.

Titans last trip to Lambeau Field

This was not pretty. The Titans last travelled to Green Bay in December of 2020, where they lost 40-14. Tannehill was held to 127 yards, one TD and two INTs in a snow ridden showdown. While it doesn’t look like its going to be snowing tonight, it is -4 degrees, which will be a big shock for the boys coming up from Nashville. The Packers did have Davante Adams for that game, but the Titans had AJ Brown. Lambeau Field in the freezing cold is definitely a big advantage for Green Bay and its experienced dog under centre.

Verdict and Bets:

  • Packers -3, 1 point @ 10/11.
  • Derrick Henry anytime and Allen Lazard over 45.5 receiving double, 0.5 point @ 2/1.
