GAME PREVIEW:
Just when you thought things were looking kind of up for the Giants, after their first win of the season against the Cardinals, they get absolutely rammed in the face by having to play the 49ers in their home stadium, on prime time Thursday Night Football. A monster loss to the Cowboys and a tight victory against Arizona, is not the form you want to bring into a game with arguably the most complete team in football. The 49ers are rolling after a solid win against the Rams, taking them to 2-0 for the season. Now, you might say, the Rams aren’t all that good, but McVay has them well coached and they are a physical team that could catch you on the hop. But San Fran can beat you every which way and with their full team at Kyle Shanahan’s disposal, they should take home an easy W this Thursday night.
Sticking on the topic of team health, the Giants are going to be without Saquon, tackle Andrew Thomas, offensive lineman Ben Bredeson and linebacker Azeez Ojulari. Missing two tackles, when facing the 49ers D-Line, is huge for New York and terrifying for Daniel Jones. To also be missing their best linebacker is also a big concern. CMC should feast and George Kittle should also feature. The Giants also haven’t registered a sack this year, so Brock Purdy should be able to pick them off at will and comfortably coast through this game.
Looking at overall team statistics, more bad news can be found for the Giants. The 49ers are the third ranked offensive rushing team and the Giants are the 26th ranked rushing defence. The 49ers are the fourth ranked offence in terms of points scored and the Giants are the worst ranked team in terms of points allowed. I know its only been two games, but things don’t look great for New York.
PICKS:
49ers -10.5, 1 point @ 20/23.
Not over thinking this one. It could get ugly for the Giants.
CMC over 78.5 yards rushing, 1 point @ 20/23.
Again, simple simple.
BONUS:
If you wanted to jack up your same game multi or just add another single, taking a receiving prop bet for a Giants player wouldn’t be the worse shout, even against the 49ers D. If the Giants go down big, they’ll have to start slinging it through the air and go for broke.
