Panthers @ Raiders: Raiders -5.5, 1 point @ 5/6 (NAP)
The Panthers are in complete freefall and have just benched last year’s number one pick for Andy Dalton. David Tepper’s leadership has caused the organisation to completely implode. This is the sorriest team the NFL has seen for a while. They also now head away to play a team who just beat the Ravens on the road. Dalton may bring his old head experience and calm things down on offence, but it won’t be enough. The Panthers have conceded an average of 36 points per game so far this season, making this quite an appetising prospect for Las Vegas.
Derrick Henry anytime: 0.5 point @ evens
Alvin Kamara found the end zone four times last week… The Cowboys are weak on the interior d-line and Henry loves mashing it up the guts. This seems a little too good to be true, which does worry me a bit.
Bears @ Colts: under 45.5, 0.5 point @ 8/11
This Bears defence is elite, holding Stroud and the Texans to 19 points last week. They also scored two non-offensive touchdowns the week previous against the Titans. The Colts have been a mixed back on offence, scoring ten away to Green Bay, last week, but did put up 27 against the Texans the week before. The Colts’ defence has been gashed on the ground, conceding an average of 237 rushing yards so far, good enough for worst in the league by an absolute mile. The Bears have struggled on offence, and while they have some fire power on the ground with DeAndre Swift, their offensive line may not be able to take advantage against the weak d-line of the Colts, who are also now without DeForest Buckner. This will be a close one and likely a pretty low scoring affair, unless Caleb Williams starts to get hot.
Eagles @ Saints: Saints -2.5 0.5 point @ 4/5
I’ll bite. The Saints are looking insane this year. They put up 44 against the Cowboys last week and 47 against the Panthers in week one. Derek Carr is playing like a grown ass man and Kamara is rolling back the years, with three rushing TDs and one receiving, last week. The Eagles are 1-1, and probably should be 2-0, but let it slip late last week against the Falcons. This is their first road game of the season and will be without AJ Brown and James Bradberry, with CJ Gardner Johnson listed as questionable. Hurts and Barkley will try and get it done on the ground, but the Saints are second in the league in terms of rushing yards allowed. This should be a great game, but the in-form team being the one at home is swinging it for me.
