This is certainly not the most ideal game to be trying to snap my losing streak, but I ain’t scared. Well, a little. The Thursday Bet Builder for week 2 sees the Giants travel to the capital to face the Washington Football Team. This NFC East match-up will defence dominated, with both teams looking to get off the mark with their first win. I feel your pain, guys. Some important items to consider before jumping into my predictions for tonight’s game:

Washington:

Ryan Fitzpatrick is out with a hip injury, so Taylor Heinicke is in.

When Heinicke came in for Fitzpatrick against the Chargers on Sunday he completed 11/15 for 122 yards and a touchdown, with a passer rating of .

Heinicke is 0-2 as a starter, but one of those games was against Tom Brady and the Bucs in last year’s Wild Card game.

Terry McLaurin had 115 yards and 74 yards receiving against the Giants last year.

Washington have lost the last five games to Big Blue.

Giants:

Daniel Jones has led the league in fumbles the last two seasons and fumbled one on Sunday night against the Broncos.

Von Millar recorded two sacks on Daniel Jones in the week one match-up.

WFT recorded five sacks in the second meeting against the Giants last year.

Saquon was limited to only ten carries last Sunday, as they are easing him back in after his injury.

TE Evan Engram is also inactive.

The Giants held all Broncos receivers under 75 yards on Sunday night.

This one is so hard to call, but I think Washington will just about edge it. Both teams have stellar defences, but I think the Washington D will take it to another level this year and in this game. For that reason, I am going with Washington on the alternative handicap at -2.5. The standard handicap is 3.5, but I like having the back-up of a field goal to win it. As you know, I like Terry McLaurin and I think he’ll be the difference maker tonight in this close battle.
