The Masters

Scottie Too Hottie for the Rest of the Field

Scottie Scheffler has got a strangle hold on the Masters’ field after shooting the lights out last night with a 67. Seven birdies and two bogies to go along with nine regulation pars was good enough to give the American a five shot lead going into the weekend. He is the world number one for a reason, and he’ll be very hard to catch by Sunday evening, once he doesn’t implode over the second two days. But stranger things have happened. The rest of the field produced a mixed bag. Cam Smith was poor for the majority of his round but salvaged it somewhat with two birdies in the last four holes and an excellent par on 13. Lowry, Matsuyama, Schwartzel and Thomas were all big movers and are within striking distance heading into moving day.

Deebo Samuel Removes all 49ers Content from his Instagram

Hmmmm some very juice information indeed. One of the most dynamic and explosive players in the leeeeeeague has scrubbed all Niners material from his Instagram account, in what looks like a bid to acquire an updated contract. The wide receiver market has gone into overdrive this offseason, with the leagues’ star wideouts demanding big pay days, in what is this new pass first NFL. This seems to be the way to get a new contract these days, so we’ll see how this progresses over the coming days.

Grand National Day Gets Underway

The big one is set to get underway at 5:15 today and looks to be a more open contest this year. The betting market is all over the place, with last year’s winner Minella Times now the favourite at 9/1. Snow Leopardess was drawing lots of attention and money yesterday and was hammered into 8/1 at one stage but has now drifted back to 10/1. Any Second Now at 10/1 seems to be the way to go, after running well in this last year despite being badly hampered at one point. JP holds a strong hand in the race with five runners and I think Enjoy D’allen is another interesting prospect at 14/1. Barry Geraghty is very high on Commodore at 20/1 and can’t be ruled out.
