Tiger Giving Me the Tingles

Stop it, Tiger. The Goat was giving us all the feels yesterday as he recorded a sensational -1, given the extreme circumstances of his return. Three birdies and two bogeys logged a 71 for the BM, and he sits on T10 going into the Friday session. His birdie on sixteen was vintage Tiger as he raked in a long putt and hit us with that sexy fist pump. His game is looking solid, but it may be the wear and tear of the tournament that catches up with him on Sunday. Here’s to hoping he powers up the hill like A Plus Tard did in the Gold Cup.

Former Runners-Up Looking Good

Cameron Smith and Sungjae Im looked mightily impressive in their first-round endeavours. The Aussie logged eight birdies to go along with two disappointing double bogies, one of the first and one at the last. He’s right where I want him though, ready to pounce going into day 2. You don’t want a fella getting off to too good a start. Im is doing what needs to be done around Augusta, going -3 for the par fives, while keeping his bogey count relatively low. His track record at the Masters would suggest he’ll continue the good form into the weekend.

NFL Moves

Jimmy G staying with the Niners

Despite the Niners best efforts, their front office seems to be unable to move Jimmy G out of the building. The handsome Italian recently underwent shoulder surgery that has seen his trade value significantly drop. This is supposed to be the Trey Lance era, but Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has come out and said the starting QB position is up for grabs. What seemed to be a simple roster decision for the 49ers, is definitely now up in the air.

Bobby Wagner Makes His Move to LA Official

Bobby W has signed his five-year deal with the LA Rams. Rams GM Les Snead is taking the biscuit now at this stage, as the five time All Pro joins the Super Bowl champs in a bid to add a second ring to his collection. Wagner has been catching some heat by analysts, however, as he negotiated his own contract, which is leaving some people feeling that he didn’t get the best deal possible. He just made $50m, calm down.

Brandin Cooks Puts Pen to Paper on Two Year Deal with Texans

The Texans are making moves. Cooks is a top class wideout who doesn’t get the credit he deserves. The Texans have come out and said that they are building around second year QB Davis Mills, so this is a welcome decision for the offence. What does this mean for the draft, however? Do the Texans draft an OL at the number three position, or will they go defensive player now that they have another offensive player secure on the roster?

Aintree Day 2 Gets Underway

Day one of the Randox Health Grand National Festival was a bit of wash out but produced some quality races. Four more grade ones come at us thick and fast today, with the Marsh Chase as the big one at 3:30pm. Fakir D’oudairies heads the market at 5/4, and will be hard to oppose, as he comes here fresh after skipping Cheltenham. L’Homme Presse and Bravemansgame also go head-to-head, finally, in the Betway Novices’ Chase at 2.55.
